Hello John,
I started with a Pentax MZ50 which I thought was the bees knees, I wanted a digital camera and thought about the Canon but as I had pentax lenses I went for the Pentax ist D. It is so easy to use and you can see the results I have had it about 4 weeks now and love it.
I would recommend it although it is a bit expensive. Thanks for asking.
