Hi Ray, Having seen the aftermath of the Bam earthquake, I began to fully understand the impact of the forces of nature. Absolutely a shocking experience. Within a few seconds, the lives of these people was changed dramatically. The effects will be felt and can be seen long afterwards. Not a single building in that town was erect, ruins all over the place. Not to mention the world heretidge Citadel complex... Too graphic to post on UF....
Thanks for your comment,
Cheers,
Hugo

Hugo, Excellent image, great composition, color, and detail. Too bad it had to come from a tragity. I can really relate to earthquakes, I live in San Francisco Bay are in California, and was in my house when the Loma Preta earthquake struck in 1989, the house suffered about 50,000 dollars worth of damage in about 20 seconds, I was in the second floor at the time, and it was anything but dull. Reguards, Ray

This is interesting, even very sad photo. Once again, the nature 'say' I am stronger than you people! Even in colour this photo gives sadness.

dramatic... nature can be beautiful, but devastating and ruthless too... you never know how is going to react. I just wonder if this series will work better in B/W, especially this image, as the rust on the car indicates me pass of time more that a sudden crush...

Groet Teunis

Yep,this is not a repeating image, it is particular of it and very interesting subject, showing the other side of it, I have to say ,that this is better in contrast and clear, than the previous one, you need to revise the scanning quality..Saeed

It is powerful as compact and concrete evidence of the power of the earthquake. The light is very harsh, but I am presuming you are showing this with such bright values for the purpose of creating intensity. The tent also gives an association to ongoing rescue efforts...

i grew up in the dominican republic and this reminds me of the aftermath of hurricane David in 1979. after the hurricane my father brought me along on a photo trip around the island to document the damage. we saw images like these over and over again. my strongest memory is of a small aircraft (cessna or some such) flipped over on it's back on top of a partially flattened hangar. very sad.

Okay this is driving me nuts - why is my comment under your name!! I reposted it after you reposted the image...
Hugo,
This is interesting to me...unlike the other shots that you have taken of this disaster this one is of the particular and the individual rather than the huge and general nature of the incident...the other images dealt with the scope of the devastation this one deals with the particular impact of it and in one particular facet of that impact for the owner of the blue vehicle...

Diego Riviera's comment: Very simple and very dramatic shot... I like composition here: the car, damage and all of ruins are perfectly showed... The tent on second is balanced composition as well. Very well done my friend !! Cheers!

Had to remove it, as I found out the rating option can only be turned off when posting he photo, not in the edit mode.... Here's the repost.
