"I think there is in the heart of a man a place made for wonder. It sleeps inside, awaiting fulfillment. All one's life, one gathers treasures to fill it. Sometimes they are tiny glistening jewels: a flower blooming in the shelter of a fallen tree, the arch of a small child's brow combined with the curve of her cheek. Sometimes, however, a trove falls into your hands all at once, as if some greedy pirate's chest spilled before an unsuspecting beholder. Such were the dragons on the wing..." - Amber, from Mad Ship (Book 2 of The Liveship Traders trilogy, by Robin Hobb) :)

I like the charcoal treatment, it's a little like a series of prints I saw recently by some Australian artists called Rainforest Dreaming.
I swear its eye moved... :)

This has a very sketchy, fluid and flowing aspect. It also seems threatening, somehow. Very effective.

pets......ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah aha h I am sure he would get on well with my rats, they could have a dinner together, a platter of orange god awful british cheddar cheese (they havent a clue about cheese here) and a heap of radicchio lettuce with oliva oil(even rats and dragons cant escape my olivy roots). They would enjoy that! Anyway, i wonder how you did this. Myyyyyyyyyyysssssssssssssteriooooooooooousssssssssssss....

Smile on pets - I have one in that category too :-) I like how the dragon is emerging from the center and how the background is so very helpful in emphasizing that perception.
