i really appreciate ALL your thoughts
and Kim-I think you are right - I wanted that whole hand in there initially but when I included it in the crop it also includes the end of the little "hiney" which doesn't bother me in itself, but it messed up the lines to have that roundness in there at the end of the image... so I chose to crop the fingers instead... next time!
I am glad you notice that though - it is the kind of thought I am looking for - minute details!

Beautiful soft light, illuminating the soft baby curves! Perhaps having the entire hand in the frame would give this more of a sense of completeness... the baby is the abstract here, and so having the whole hand in the shot would re-inforce the focus.
Still, a wonderful shot! Creative and well thought out.

It is hard to go wrong with a baby - I must admit.
But I was trying for something different here... and feel free to critique anything you see that could be improved.
If the impact could be improved - I am on one of those ledges where I feel like I have to leap up on the next level (or fall trying!)!
