Beautiful shot! Very 'alive'. I share your concern about missing the moment from watching everything thru a lens. Always looking for the right angle, composition, camera settings, et al... the essence of the moment is diminished at that time, but like another comment here, I'm missing something if I don't shoot. I just can't NOT do it.

Very cool Carol, love the colours and the movement.
YES!!! I saw all my kids dance recitals, choir concerts etc through a bloody little viewfinder on the camcorder! It was fun to have a record but I never saw them live!;(

I love this shot... would like to see it just a little lighter so the yellows and reds show more. Great crop and continuity of motion (hope I said that right).

Nice abstract kind of shot Carol. I thought it was a scrub brush...I really like pics that make me examine closer...thus pulling me in. Very nice colour too. About your question...Actually, I feel like I'm missing out IF I don't have my camera. It's funny, I feel so...so...NAKED without it. :-) Again...I like your picture.

I'm curious if any of you feel like you spend so much time trying to capture these fleeting moments with your camera that you miss out of the joy and magic of the moment because you've reduced your view down to the size of your viewfinder?
