Oh!Beautiful abstract on the concrete canvas.I look for good object on concrete surface in my lunch break, and recently I see that most of the good object stand at so close to the ground,so I must watch the concrete wall squatting. Nice canvas with ground and pebbles.

Anyway, this is a fantastic abstract, something with a Japanese touch. Don't ask me why.
I just see it this way.

Superb found composition, with the dried-blood looking stains above, but the depth of the stones, and their nicely divergent coloring, below.

Harlan,

This is why rust is so appealing - you search out all the rust shots you want - it is something like this that is what you search for. This is why people use rusty beams in architecture and rusty metals in furniture - it is the warmth and implicite age...

It looks as if a flash was used here - I always find that with shots like this the flash removes some of the intensity and here I think it hurts in the soil - we want the soil but the flash gives it that hyper real look that soil doesn't have.

Sorry to hear that you are ill - stomache flu or influenza? I've had the stomache bug twice in ths pregnancy - ugh! I hope you get over it soon.

Mary

I thought I would drop in and see what Harlan is doing. Sorry about the flu. I like this for the "grounding" provided by the ? well ? ground. I'm tired of riding bikes, it's cold and foggy here, and it's high time I went out with the camera and created an image. I will use you for inspiration!

Excellent idea of cropping so that you would keel a strole of concrete on the bottom.
This wonderful image makes me think of an exraterrestial landscape with a yellow/brownish sky and clouds different than the ones we are used to see here.
Brillant work, Harlan

Great texture and colors. (sorry for the flu, tylenol and chicken soup, and you'll be fine).
Yeah, the bottom adds a lot to it. I'd love to have the whole thing on my wall, 4ft high.
