About I spot metered off the rocks as the sun first came up - these rocks are 500 feet above boulder. The light on the rocks was much lighter than the sky and the exposure created the illusion of a deep blue sky - I checked the light level in the sky with the spot meter before shooting - the colors are very much what is on the slide

While I like this shot, Greg, I think I would have been inclined to crop from the left to give more of a diagonal to the image using the sloping face of the rock to the right, also to get rid of the bright spot above the rocks on the left, and to move the main rock formation to the left of the center of the frame. If I were cropping, I'd crop away something in the range of 1/2 to 3/4 inch from the left as posted.

You know I like this image Greg as I have a print of it from you. The contrasts are what make this for me. The image evokes fear with those skies and making it look like your a ant looking up a mountain.

Yo...this is so great. very drammatic. I love the way you used the wide angle lens here. Feels like the clouds are sitting on my head... Great picture.

The light on the rocks, the sky - simply beautiful drama, interesting perspective as well, appears you were shooting at an upwards angle. YOur work is so good - I definitely see EC's in your future Greg!!!
