sweet surrender......

shelter in my arms......

alone in the storm......

the silence he left behind......

the night inside me......

fountain of sorrow......

it comes on silent wings...

rural roofs......

waiting in the shadows......

damaged......

I like this composition completely. It is, moody and dramatic. The diffusion of the sky adds to this feeling immensly. The only thing I am undecided about, is the color of the pine.

A woman after my own heart. Ahh...the secret life of trees. Beautiful

I love this photo. It is amazing, the color of the tree is just subtle enough to be outstanding. The texture and composition is great. I like the contrast between the featured tree and the ice covered trees in the background.

Excellent ps work - this must have taken hours! I personally would NOT have the patience to do this!

I love how you're combining both infrared and PhotoShop, and I find it very inspiring! :) My only (infitessimal) nitpick about this photo is that I think the green you used has a bit too much blue in it. However, I think you were probably going for something more sylistic than an exact carbon copy of the original tree. In that case, it works, as it makes the scene appear more frigid/frosty.

I have great respect for people who can shoot on cloudy, overcast days and make it work to their advantage. Fantastic work! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of these types of photos in your portfolio.

Anne... you don't need experience with either to critique a photograph or art. If it makes you feel then the image did its job.

I like this image and think its stellar. In my opinion its your best. I admire the extra color work that puts this over the top.

I just came back to this again. Technically, I don't feel qualified to comment on this cuz I have no experience with digital cameras or infrared. So I'll just say how it makes me feel cuz I think that is as worthwhile as anything. I know you put it in the Alone category, but when I look at it, it makes me feel warmth, hope, and optimism...upward thinking. The things that influence this feeling are the composition (low white trees leading up to high green tree, making an upward line), the height of the green tree above the others (strength, upward thinking), the color of the tree in an otherwise stark, cold white environment (warmth), and the slight lean of the tree...as if it is ready to sprout legs and move beyond the cold (hope, optimism, strength). So, I think the image makes an impact.

Tess, this is a wonderful rendering..Good stark contrast and the wood fence in the background complete the work.

Your hard work in the darkroom paid off handsomely, Tess. It's a striking image, and I'd imagine is even more so in high res. The offset is nicely conceived, and the rich color of the lone pine is very lovely against the stark background.
