An amazing portrait!!! The face is amazing, it's always cool when you find one of these guys sleeping on a cold morning.

Extremely well composed, with the out of focus area suggesting the decay of the wasp. The way the wings are drawing the diagonals shows a strong mastery.

Marion, This is an incredible photo. Fave.
The wasp "was sucking jam on my plate and I cut him in half. He paid no attention, merely went on with his meal, while a tiny stream of jam trickled out of his severed esophagus. Only when he tried to fly away did he grasp the dreadful thing that had happened to him." George Orwell

Wow - really great macro, Marion! I think the limited DOF works really well, here - with so much detail in the face. Perfect composition - sorry I missed this one!

Yah that's easy to say Marion. I did not kill it....lol, but the wasp is dead alright wich I can see on the sting that sticks out of his body and the bended feeler. I hope you did give him a desent funeral. Oke serious now. Great two way diagonal composition and depth of field. Wonderful details and lighting. Excellent macro Marion with perfect sharpness.....Best regards Harry
