This was a nice shot. You are very good at working with light, as you show in all your photographs. I was especially drawn to this shot because of the expression on the girl's face and the way she is composed. Well done.

This particular film was an experiment for me.
I normally use 320 TXP (Tri-X) in medium format. I chose to use the 3200 TMax film in 35mm for this because I was shooting indoors with very little light available, and didn't want to draw too much attention to myself with a flash.
I shot several rolls of the 3200 TMax, and several rolls of 400 TXP (Tri-X) pushed to 3200.
I find that I actually prefer the look of the Tri-X pushed to 3200 over the 3200 TMax.
I look forward to seeing some of your work in the medium format. The larger negative size makes a big difference, and I really really like the subtleness of the grain delivered by Tri-X in the 6x6 format that I use.

Richard you must fill me in on your "take" on film choice as I have some myself and will be experimenting with. I like lighting here and like the as I say true BW your portf shows - I am both a purist and a digital photographer, but prefer the old school - back to roots and seeing the control/creativity in the darkroom. Love the format - seen in your portf - I've got a medium format on horizon. Feel free to share your advice within my work. 7s on this. Nice work. Regards, Cindi

I love the way you've shown the closeness of the relationship between the two by only showing one face. Those hands together are priceless...nice work.
