Great catch ! I love the pose and the blur of the hand. Maybe some people would prefer SLIGHTLY more details in the water, maybe I would as well, I'm not sure... But it works as is too for me. Well done !

Thanks for your comment. Right now, I am in experiment mode. I like these shots because they seem a little different from other shots, I guess.
Of course, I am learning these. Partcularly this shot as well as http://www.usefilm.com/showphoto.php?id=26890 this one, I have tried the over expsoing technique to make the subject more as pencil painting. I dont know whether I did it right.

I always thought placing a moving object so it is leaving the frame isnt so good. now you've changed my mind.
I have a question though, ive seen some of your prints...why are the background so white? the overexposed background does make the girl leap out of the print though.

i have to diagree bob, the placement here coupled with the "over the shoulder glance" lends to the feeling she's moving on, up, and away from what we see; a sense of completion and finality.

I like the subject as is on the right. There is something about her frozen stride that makes her small form look confident ... I think the fact that she is just about through the waves enhances that feeling of strength. To me, the positioning makes her look indifferent to the waves, but at the same time comfortable and sort of one with them. She also seems indifferent to the camera, so the placement of her in the frame on the right, about to walk right out of the pic, works well for me. Very nice pic for this project!

Very nice use of subject & film. Even more effective by placing your subject left so can "walk" across the entire frame.
