Sandy,

After Jim, there isn't much left to say. But I think that this is an admirable photo and an admirable bit of writing.

NIce surreal pic... i like the post processing work for flares... the pose of its hands is quite interesting... in Italy that gesture has a precise meaning... who knows because I have thought there...Snug is for Guns? i'm sick... ;) Regards

Hi Sandy:

This is brilliant work, Sandy. Poetic, yet surprisingly realistic. Even at a glance, there's no doubt about the subject -- you've even captured a sense of inverted embryonic weightlessness.

The connection with your written poem, leaves me a bit confused. But them I'm usually a bit confused.

Sometimes I wonder if makind's distant memories of the peacefull bliss of the utero experience couldn't be the driving force behind the "Garden of Paradise" myth that appears in almost every religion and civilization. A couple of years ago I researched the topic and was surprised by what I found. Apparently medical researchers once thought the incomplete development of the embryonic neural system made such memories impossible. But this is no longer the case. A fascinating topic, and a great image! --jim

I like the pose and top-down perspective, it's less obvious than the classic foetal position. Implies lost in thought? The surreal lighting effect, making everything gradually dissolve, works well. Maybe the flare suggests an "odyssey" (you know what I mean) more than being "snug"? It (the flare) is positioned a bit too symmetric perhaps (too perfect diagonal split)? Your poems intrigue me as well, can't always work them out, but like the photos, if they were too transparent, they wouldn't be as interesting.

life without pleasure
is not life at all

he said it one night
when the dogs were barking feverishly

but i decided to ignore his accusations
of how dull and listless
his life had become..

after all...
i didn;t put him here...
didn;t even try.

Intriguing abstract! I see arms and legs, but are they on a real person? A doll or mannequinn? Is this at a nightclub? Makes you wonder...:)
