I agree with Donald McKay - this shot does show that you have great potential, Dennis - unfortunately the B&W version included by Federico is not available any more, somehow - I have never been to America, but this photograph is the epitome of my impression of the typical American rural town - must say, this seems like a very quiet town...

no I think this works well in color and if there wasn't that much noise in the sky I would be tempted to increase the color and make it look like one of those 50's shots..regards roger

Yep! This is VALDOSTA, GA. I have been through this difficult city to drive in. Most often I was on my way to Florida via U.S.#1.

very good.

I like the color as well as all the phone lines, which gives the shot a unique look.

That's a very solid document Dennis. I'm impressed, especially because it seems to be studied more than your snapshot-style photos. You bring a thoughtful reserve to color that keeps it from being sentimental, or cheesy. Thank you for the work.

To Jake and Federico, thanks for the suggestion guys - I like the b&w version, however, that particular afternoon I saw Valdosta in colors - those colors.
To Kevin, thanks for the kind words - no, I was only passing through.

Good work Dennis, do you live in Valdosta? I was only there in October, lunch at the wooden nickle.
This shot brings back so many memories for me.

i would like this image as a b/w, i don't think the colors work at all to accentuate the environment. Thats my impression as I like the small town atmosphere.
