About This is my fist attempt at photo restoration, suggestions and tips welcome.

I picked this box up at a recent garage sale. I liked the picture there is no marking on the box I assumed it was a greeting card box.

I think you're doing a great job - especially with the added contrast - but I'm not sure if it's quite done yet. There's still some scratches across the girl's nose and chin. Using a combination of the clone tool, the blur tool and perhaps an airbrush will get rid of them. There's also some yellow discolouration throughout the photo, especially on the girl's head, from below her eyes up to her hairline. You don't want her looking jaundiced! To fix this, you could select this area with the lasso tool, feather your selection, copy it to a new layer and then use the colour balance tool to add a bit more red, magenta and/or blue to even out her skin tones. :)

Thanks Sandy - It is great to know other people share my desire for old and forgotton items that are so often disgarded.

I think you did a good job with colors. Assuming you cloned out the scratches but some remain on her chest (?) A good idea to leave some of the imperfections in the "unimportant" background.
