I just came upon this in random images, and I agree with everyone, this is simply stunning! Thomas Kincaid should produce something this beautiful.

Pete, "About...." lens flare, is that what causes the trees in the background to shift in color, compared to the trees in the foreground? I have some really great fall pics, alot of trees in the background are just not as vibrant and the others. I love this pic tho.

Though it doesn't have any distinct lightsources which would make it one of his trademark paintings, at first glance I thought this was a Thomas Kincaid piece. It's very beautiful, and immediately made me feel calm just looking at it. A rather serendipitous effect, eh? Very well done! :)

I didn't use any filters. The strange color of the pathway is caused by two reasons. The first is as Artie explained: Shadows seem to pick up dominant sky colors (in this case, the canopy of red leaves). In addition, the scanner I used seem to have a bit of a red bias in the shadows -- I tried to correct them a bit in photoshop, but decided that I kind of liked the effect. ;)
The original slide still has a slightly purple walkway, but it's not as pronounced as this scan.

Nanette, Cool shadows on walk will pick up the colour of the dominate sky colours transmitted through the trees. That is causing this effect. Cool huh.

Very nicely done; a very soft but "strong" image.
