We all have our own idealised memories of Venice, usually illuminated by the sun in its summer glory. We tend to forget the Venice most tourists never see, especially in late autumn or winter. On the evidence of this image we are reminded of the many other subtle moods it can take on. This is very atmospheric and the grain works very well with the mist in enhancing the overall effect. I only wish I didn't find the painted lines so distracting, but it's no fault of yours. Best wishes. David

Wonderful image. The fog, as already noted in previous comments,is wonderful and adds to the mood but what I actually like the best is the faceless people and the fact they are all faced the other way. It adds to the mystery but also makes them seem like robots or zombies on their way to work or something. King of erie! Excellent!

Shame about Venice. I heard it's turning into a pseudo-Disneyland, now that they have been allowed to fix everything. I love the idea of the photo - I just wish the noise wasn't there. Drip-wet black and smokey white would have been nicer.

Very beautiful and different view of a great city. As some one has already mentioned, Venice has almost been reduced to a visual and photographic cliche. You have provided a uniquely different view, something very hard to do. This is very original. The grain has been used very effectively.
