This Green Heron is posed for the moment of strike. I had him in my view finder for 15 minutes waiting for the stike. I had taken a few test shots for the right exposure. At the last minute I decided I needed more magnification. Took my camera from the support and added my 1.4x teleconverter. When I placed the camera back on the support he struck at it's prey. Missed the whole scene; bad decision. I did get a couple of shots with his catch, that's for another day.
Ronnie I like this shot because the lighting is so cool. It had me fooled at first, I thought you had been dodging and burning !! Then i saw the shadows. The colors are so nicely saturated. just another really cool shot from the D100. jimc
Beautiful shot, Ronnie. I'm waffling a bit about that plant in front of the heron. One moment I wish it weren't there, the next I think it adds some "natural history." Either way, well captured.
