I think you've got a lovely dog, but this picture really doesn't flatter him/her at all. One thing that jumped out at me right away was all the body parts that are chopped off by the frame. The back leg, the front legs... it just has an awkward feel to it. It's nice that you have good focus on the whole face, muzzle included. The eyes are very clear, but a small catchlight in them would really make them stand out.
If you're dog is patient, then shoot away and keep posting!

i think he is a little tired.
cute dog, nice shot.
i agree that a lower angle could have made this photo a little more powerful.

What sad looking eyes, rather emotional, I can't tell but I think this is a rather old dog. Another angle a bit lower may have worked better but a good effort.
