Majid,

Correction> I was working for Philips Medical Systems to install and maintain medical xray machines. Thats why I visited the Royal Clinic in Taif for King Fahd and the General Hospital in Al Baha. Usually for a day or maybe 2 days. I visited mainly the Xray department with Gene MC Edwards and UK personell and the cafetaria.

Well well now I hear I missed al those parties they have at KFH ( in 1983 Al Baha General Hospital ). Maybe I did meet Yahia or Jamman, ma-aarif. I do remember I had to pass the ladies waiting room ( ... ) and being a westerner they did not seem to bother a lot. Just the veil went down and the ladies kept on breastfeeding. Well , I did learn the differences in culture but it was quite funny. In the west it would be the other way hahahaha.

But parties in KFH in 83. Wow, that not really islamic to have a party and then sure there was ... and ...... tsssssssssssk dont tell the muttawa. ;-)

Youd better throw some 200 extra stone to the pillar in Meccah representing the devil hahahahah
make it 2000 ;-)

Salaam Majid, Harry

Dear Wolf,
Hope all well, I see you have got a lot of beautiful pictures of AL-BAHA. I love your work, what makes me love it even more is that i am from Albaha. Now seeing picture of Albaha in 1983, really makes me see what my older brothers only talk about.
I would be grateful if i could see more pictures of albaha.
Salam
Majid

Its mostly vulcanic rock, climate is perfect and the ottomans and before the hashemites prepared the needed 'humus' .

What an amazing looking place. You've captured the harshness of the landscape and the way the inhabitants are doing their best to survive in this environment. Would be interesting to see a shot from the same location today...

Great shot. I'm amazed they can actually grow vegetables out of this sort of soil.
