yo,Cooooooooooookie!...am only 3 months + a tad late to this creative and appealing motion shot...very impressionistic and not bullseye center to my eye tho' i say rules only count when it improves a comp...
Marcus left me a comment tonight on a tribute BD photo i posted for Kamran B. a bit ago,so from there i followed his coms to YOU!
rough going with this @#%&* economy,so at this moment i am setting up a new shop as a charter member at Art Fire...will send you link if you want once i have stocked my shop...power outages have interrupted my work there this weekend,so am trying the wee hours while connection steady
still enjoying shootin' weddings?...think about you lots and send you xoxo....love ya,gayle

.....double beak thing? doesn't look like that sort of bird but you never can tell these days, Rina, it's a fabulous shot, as for the technical stuff, the composition places the subject in the top third of the frame, precisely obeying the important law of thirds, suck as it might.....'I carn eat chips bro, I eat plenkton'....have you seen 'beached whale' on youtube? cheers, great work. david.

"I DO believe in Marcus!" x 3 actually works, hehehe! Plus, I think that's gotta be the longest as@ kissing comment I've ever had. I'm flattered, thank you gorgeous.
But shhhh... don't let your homies hear you talking like that, they'll start to think you're human ;)

I actually am eating my heart out! Remember I told you the reason I shoot bird is that I am lacking in originallity, creativity and composition! A shot like this I would love to take, but to be honest the last time one of my cameras saw 1/15th @ F/22 I was too drunk to see the dials. those shutter speeds and apertures are for real photogs, bird shooters are not real photographers. we just select a app, get the highest shutter we can, and rapid fire LOL... As for rules IE thirds I agree with you 100 percent, the subject should always be positioned in the frame where the artist believes it should be and this looks great to me and to be honest its in the upper part of the frame and slightly left : ) wonderful, creative, mystical scene, someday when I learn to take my camera off of the bird mode on the dial I may try something as eye catching as this, but I feel I shall fail miserably! How is that for a AS@ Kissing Critique? KEKEKEKEKKEKE

Yeah, isn't that just crazy? Something about keeping the main subject in either the left or right third providing a 'flow'... I dunno, probably wasn't paying much attention. These days I pull down the cone of silence if I hear anyone talking rules... f**k that
Not sure Mr Armani appears unless he's being insulted, or, you clap three times and repeat: "I DO believe in Marcus! I DO believe in Marcus! I DO believe in Marcus!"

oh yeah and the centered thing.. meant to say.. it the second compositional thing I teach in my classes.. the centralisation of the object alters the visual hierarchy of the image and leaves the viewer in no doubt as to what the most important thing in the image is.. I didnt know there was a rule about it.. but I have a saying Rule No1 There are no rules... I am aware that some judges pooh pooh the centralised composition.. but as I say the judges are idiots..unless they give you the prize

Well said my lovely girl.....who needs rules? What we need is great photos with the subject anywhere in the d--n frame that it pleases. Well done this looks great with just enough blur for the motion and not too much to disguise what it is. I must say these butterflys with yellow beaks are pretty rare now I KNOW what it is, I was being silly Rina. You did a good job with the cloning and I love that blurry reflection in the water and those beautiful tones. Well done to you my gorgeous girl. A HUUUUGE HUUUUG, a BIG KIIIIISSSSSS and my very best wishes to you and the family as always.....Ray X
