Good details and a very nice coloring of Rosie, Dave! the timing did catch her on a very good moment, as she sits there quietly. Especially the nice matte shiny fur under her face is very well captured.
Placing her right in the middle of the image seems to be the best possibility for this type of a portrait. The towel or blanket on which she sits was a good idea too, bit it's color is a bit less fiting her own color. I would rather think of a white one or a brown one. The latter could bring a good restricted but consistent color palette but it would make it also harder to get a higher contrast of her against it.

Nice portrait! I think he'll definitely fit in well with the family seeing that he stayed still for this portrait - and not just a regular snapshot - but using natural lighting! Either you trained him well or he knows his master is a photographer :-)

hahaarrrr! a bit of a poser aye! there nice dogs, we one, she was a runt, but she had the best hair on her i should have entered her in a dog comp, she was one of those,, good photo and like to see more when she gets a few months older :)
