Thanks, AJ. I've got a whole folder of gull shots, and most of them different. I look for different angles then shoot and hope for the best, and so far have managed to bag a few goodies. Living near the beach Seagulls and Pelicans are the easiest and cheapest models.:)

I tend to shy away from photographing gulls, thinking of them as too "common" a subject. This shot reminds me that I should change my opinion - it is a subject in which you can capture just as many expressions, unexpected occurrences and just great scenes as any other!
What makes this one for me is the open beak - it really conveys the idea of communication between the birds. Perfect focus and colours, also.
