Hi Andre, thanks for your interesting in my image. Maybe the more "life" in the colour version is due to the general warm tone.
Ciao Domenico

Hi Domenico, I now think I have to agree with you. In this case, the colour wins :) When I first saw your B&W version, I thought it was okay, but not as nice as the colour one. So, I tried to do it myself the way I had seen it in my minds eye in B&W. I tried a lot of adjustments in Photoshop, but still ended up with almost exactly the same B&W image that you did. :) The colour just seems to work better for some reason. There seems to be more "life" to the image in colour. Andre

Thanks for your suggestion, Andre. Below there's the B&W version, maybe I prefer the colour one, what do you think?

Very nice use of shadows and light in this one Domenico. I believe this one would be very good in B&W also. The texture would show very well in B&W Andre

Thanks for your comment. You are right, it is simple: testing my new Canon G9 I struck by column shadows. It seems a timeless image: it could be taken in various periods('900, '800, 100 BC)
