Collin thanks for taking the time to explain. I viewed your portfolio and noticed your settings, so next time out I will follow your advice. Only have a 2 stop ND filter right now so be acquiring more filters in near future. Appreciate the help. Debra

You're welcome. I am often after the slow shutter effect when I shoot landscapes. During the day I use either a 3 stop or a 6 stop neutral density filter combined with a small aperture (f16 or f22) to achieve the motion blur. At sunrise or sunset I use either a 2 or 3 stop graduated neutral density filter to hold back the intensity of the sky and allow exposure of the foreground. I look forward to seeing your results, your images are very good. Regards, Collin.

Great shot Debra. Nicely composed. I think this shot would also look good if you induced a slow shutter speed with say an ND8 filter to get motion blur in the water. Regards, Collin.
