About My primary inspiration for this shot was a Brothers Quay short film entitled, "Tales From The Vienna Woods (Stille Nacht III)". They have had a heavy influence on my work recently, but my adoration for Man Ray still shines through. A lot of my previous work had a very David LaChapelle feel to it, but I find this style more in tune with how I see things. For me, a bright, color saturated shot is far easier than creating a mood that you can physically feel.

Note: This is a second take. After some criticism on the first take, I found that I did need to improve on it, so this is my second try. Translation of the text is "In death have I blossomed".

Hi Daniel.. I find your image very captivating and always envy those who can develop a story or say something in thier imagery and you have done that very well here.

On the technical side i have some suggestions. Metal is very hard to photograph and takes some doing to get the lighting just right. I would like to see more separation between the bullet and the spoon which can be done by using reflectors and having your main light source come in from the right angle. If you look at an image i have in my portfolio of an spoon with an egg in it you will see what i mean about the lighting. I think it would help a little if this image was lighted a touch and the contrast pumped up just a little.

I like the composition and content of the image very much but think the technical can be improved...look forward to seeing more of your images..*smile* Maggie

I can't help but think this is contemplating a major life or death decision in a straightforward self-absorbed way.

I wish I had seen the film and knew the translation of this, really amazing mood, love the composition!

Great shot, i really like how the quote just seems to hover in the shot. the bullet in the spoon is just so great to me. i saw your previous shot or maybe it's just another shot with the spoon fed bullet and also loved it. good job, keep it up.
