Ok Cathy here's the trick....point your camera at the birds on the ground and walk into them & start firing...as they fly up you MAY get something good...I tried this several times &this is the best of the lot

Wow, how did you get so close? I know a 300ml lens will do it, but you are looking across the back of the bird and still seeing sky, were you in a plane? I don't know if you can understand what I am saying, the photo looks as though it is taken level with the birds in the sky. very impressive. CC
