Hi Darlene, It's a hard one to put my finger on why this one touches so many people. Of course the milky reflection and wonderful out of focus background are both outstanding. But the main reason is the actual structure. I find that when we concentrate on a distressed structure like this, it somehow adds a touch of dignity to it. Maybe this is why so many people are drawn to photographing old barns and abandoned houses? Andre

I have a hard time finding anything to say that would make this shot better. I think the sharpness of the barn in the image and the reflection of the barn are wonderful, this works with the slightly out of focus background. The depth of field is right on. I would do as Pat suggested and crop the dark spot out of the left. Great job Darlene.
My best regards,
Garold

Darlene, this is realy nice. You nailed the dof perfectly. Ther thing I can say in the way of a critique is, I would have gave it more of a pano crop perhaps just below the peak in the refelection. Otherwise, awsome.

Very nice indeed. If I had to nit and find something, I'd crop a tiny bit off the left to get rid of that wee dark spot to the side of the corner of the roof. Have you printed and matted this one? A good matte should really make it pop.

That's a real find, Darlene, and you've got a perfect reflection of it. I like your dof here, as well, to really make it stand out from the b/g. Dave.
