Such a happy image Robin. Beautiful lighting and warmth. Captures the joys of childhood... if we're lucky they'll last!

Oh Robin, this is so priceless....looks like my place!! I am a fanatical tree photographer each year, also have to get lots of Christmas morn shots...followed by obligatory paper and box carnage on the floor!! I love every minute of it, so this warms my cockles...LOL A perfect Christmas setting. hugs to you, Bek xxx

haha great photo Robin, my attention goes straight to the remaining cookies and then to the presents under the tree. great job on composition and lighting. the photo tottaly takes me back to when i was younger. once again, great job robin. the syle is definetly different from the rest of your photos but it's not like that's a bad thing at all. all your photos that i've seen have meaning to them and this one is defiently no exception. 7/7

Work on Christmas...ewwwwww! Happy to hear it worked out for you though! Evening Christmas, hmmmm...how sweet is that?!
It's also good to hear the oversea packages arrived in time, Christmas Eve no less! Please let Marlyce know I'm still "protecting the soldier" here (reference her comment on my "night vision" post), and will continue until your son comes home!
Thanks for the comment and the 7 Doyle!
Happy New Year to you and Marlyce...Robin

Wow . . . this shot says it all and so much more too. I had a similar one (though with multi-colored lights on the tree) most years . . . This year I was up for work at 4AM and still working at 6PM . . . :(
Luckily . . . I arrived at home to find the children (youngest 15 yrs. old) and the wife had all "fallen asleep" in the living room and that whilst they had slept Santa had arrived . . . drank his 'high octane' egg nog and nibbled cookies . . . so I woke them up and we celebrated a wonderful EVENING Christmas for the first time in my life. There really IS a magic in Christmas . . . and word from Afghanistan is that all gifts arrived on Christmas Eve there too!
Poignant photo . . . and an automatic 7/7 from me. (And I love the glowing frame element in the presentation too).
Have a wonderful New Year!! Doyle I <~~~~~

Dear Onie...how right you are! Rubbing (lack of) sleep out of the eyes with one hand, while holding a huge mug of coffee with the other...and trying to focus enough now and then to take some pictures! Oh what we go through just to see their faces in the morning...but it's worth every second of lost sleep!
The package of hugs wrapped in red foil paper with the big red and white bow?...yes, Santa delivered it safe and sound...thank you! Hope you and Grumpy found yours also...
Hugs...Robin

LOL, nope...no Canon boxes and no Lensbaby box either, BUT...there was a tripod shaped box and a winning(enough to cover a new Lensbaby)lottery ticket under the tree...I WILL be shopping in the next few days! I'll have to pick your brain a bit first...send you a note later.
It was a great day...nothing like seeing the faces of the little ones on Christmas morning! Hope you enjoyed your time with family also Mel.
Hugs...Robin

~~GRIN~~ Robin... Now this looks like *Bleary eyed family in PJ's, knee deep in paper, squeals of delight and the obligitory whispers "Did you get extra batteries?" country...*
...and how come *The Gentleman in Red* never cleans up his crumbs and dishes... S'pose it's something to do with the time and milage covered factor... ~~GRIN~~
Next it's New Year with an Egg Delivering Rabbit close behind... or so the retailers would have us believe... :)
Hope all was wonderful for you and yours Robin... :) and did you find the special delivery of *HUGE HUGS*???... under the tree... and slightly to the left...:)
if not, huge Hugs every day... just in case...~~GRIN~~...
Onie...
