About The only island in Lake Tahoe, is 150 feet above emerald bay. The top right side has a stone building built at the time of Vikingsholm. Mrs. Knight who purchased the land called Emerald Bay, in 1928 from the Armstrongs had this 16x16 buiilding constructed by hauling blocks to the island. This became Mrs. Knights Teahouse where she took visitors during the summer.

Great capture, Marlyce. I love reflections in water. I think I'm with A J though; I would like to get rid of the darker branches at right. I don't think I would crop closer, because that would ruin the ballance, but maybe clone it out. I still love the shot, with the rich blue sky and deep green reflection. Best Regards, ---Duane---

Thank you Klaas, the water was so like a mirror and I have always loved reflections so naturally this drew my eye. Glad you like it. Interesting adjustment to the picture.

Thank you Mary. Think I am going to move away from the reflections for awhile as I can't seem to get an award there.....don't get me wrong, just it was a project I picked and have stayed with it....maybe will go back to reflections later.

Thanks Riny, the crop is intersting, but maybe a little to close to the island on the right side.

Thank you AJ, yes I forgot the branches on the right, although I intentionally did not crop so that the size of the island could be viewed....the next picture of the island I do intent to crop and to show more detail of the island.

What a beautiful scenery! Amazing reflections in this beautiful lake and an island Iīd love to camp on and swim from.
Vikingsholm? Thatīs a Danish name meaning something like the island of a viking. How weird! The building shows how big the island is - much bigger than I thought at first!
Take care
Annemette

Beautiful Marlyce, the Lake looks almost like a mirror to me. I was thinking the same way AJ wrote, but as the branches on the right should be cropped off the right part of the Island is gone as well.
So I did something else, hope you like it too.
Nevertheless your photo is amazingly beautiful.
Take care,

Klaas

Thanks for the memories Marlyce ... this island is awesome.... you've caught the lake like it's glass just the way it always looks.
Pretty interesting teahouse.. I'd love to go for tea !

A fine shot. The island somehow looks rather miniature in scale!

While the distant shoreline helps maintain perspective, it might be fun to crop it out altogether and make the viewer work a bit. Those dark branches on the right could go as well...
