Thanks to you and everyone for your comments. I think the scene is properly exposed, the grass was very bright in the afternoon sun and the elephant's dusty skin was also very light. I wanted to put this big guy front and center coming straight at the observer since that is how it was at the time I took the photo. When you are close to a big elephant in the bush, he will be the center of your attention, I assure you, so I made him the center of the photo. Phil

Great moment and well captured! Few tips: I felt it would have been more dramatic if you applied the rule of thirds, or got a angular shot of the giant! Also, I am afraid if it is slightly over-exposed (not sure if it is about my pc screen)! However, it is a beautiful image!
