I'm so glad you & Brian will be there. You both really make the class fun. I love to share what I know (even when some aren't interested). LOL! I'm off to PhotoshopWorld in Las Vegas where there is always a ton of great info to learn. Of course, I'll share what I learn with whoever is interested. See you both soon. ~ Warmest regards, Rocky

Hi Rocky, Yes, I did sign up for the next class. I don't want to miss what you come up with next. My buddy, Brian, is also joining. Might be a little difficult for him to find the time to shoot pictures. He'll get a lot out of the discussions. Thanks for always sharing! CU soon, Connie

Hi Kiarang. Yes, I wanted to lighten-up these images as well and Levels will do just that. Unfortunately, there is A LOT of noise in the shadows of these and making them lighter will only increase the visibility of this noise. It was a compromise to keep these this dark. Keeping them dark also kept the contrast which adds to their overall sharpness. I think lightening them would have the opposite effect. In truth, I just felt very lucky to capture this at all! Thank you for the very kind suggestion. ~ Warm regards, Rocky

This is really a neat capture. It looks the multiple strikesalmost surreal with the multiple stikes and the rough looking silhouetted landscape. The title definately suits well. It is very eye catching and quite stunning with an ominous mood. Congratulations on SC. MAry

Hi Gayle! Sorry for the delay in responding to this. I think I was too excited about getting the award and missed your post. LOL! I do feel very lucky to be living here. It's taken a while to gain an appreciation of the very diverse desert life here but now I truly love it. There is much more life in the desert than one would imagine. Thanks for the really kind comments. ~ Hugs & Warmest regards, Rocky

Hello Kiarang. I understand what you mean by "sharpness and quality" with this image. Since this was done "in-camera," I had to generally focus "blind" for distance. I had the f/stop set to the highest number to get it as sharp as possible. However, since lightning is not very cooperative when it comes to posing for a shot, I just took what I could get. Also, the high f/stop in a night-shoot made the noise a little more than I wanted in the shadows. Reducing this image for the web didn't help the quality either. Perhaps I could improve this more in Photoshop. Any suggestions? Thanks for looking at my work. ~ Warm regards, Rocky

Wow, congratulations, Rocky! All of these lightning shots are terrific! You're lucky to be living in this beautiful part of the world. Lots of nice elements here, besides the lightning. The silhouette of the mountains, the cactus, the trees in the distance. Well done! Gayle :)
