About Unfortunately, shooting right into the sun, so lighting definitely less than great, but no choice in the matter at the time... Normally I wouldn't appreciate the blur of the bat and ball, but for some reason, I liked it in this image. Curious as to whether it "makes" or "breaks" this shot for others. Thanks.

Great action shot. It tells the story and that is what it is all about. Don

The lights fine. You got yourself in to the right position for a great action shot. The blurring of the bat and ball shows motion - adding to the overall feel of the action. Try a slightly faster shutter speed though and you may have got a little bit more definition of the bat and ball with some blurring. As it is the bat is an unusuall slab of bright wood and the ball not easily definable. This wasn't an easy shot to try. So you haven't struck out, you just didn't quite get the home run!!! One final thought, just a personal observation, I would have tried to include the pitcher. He may have shown the most movement of all the subjects on the field. Maybe if you had moved slightly to your right, even a slight change of angle or zoom may have included him. But a great shot nonetheless, I doubt you had much time to plan for it. Well done Rachelle. Regards Ricky.
