I personaly prefer the black and white version. I think that the contrasts are better, as well as the tones. Very well done.

Laura: I like both versions but for different reasons. I think a lot depends on the image you wish to convey. The color version makes me feel the vibrant, modern view of a tranquil and rural bridge removed from the troubles of the modern world. A sort of escape, if you will. On the other hand, the B&W has a different image. It evokes a timeless approach and allows one to escape into the past. It seems more distant AND more 'unchanging.' The connection is a tenuous one and I probably am not explaining it well, but it gives the viewer a different feeling and that's why you'll see a lot choosing one, the other or both. This is a great example of the true differences between B&W and Color. The same image is giving different impressions. By the way, the light and shadow inter-play in this image VERY well and, on a technical level, I would say I prefer the B&W. Very tranquil image and both have merit!

A bridge of this vintage cries out to be shown in B&W and I like your conversion. Regards and thanks for your kind comments. Larry

This is a tough one Laura! I think I'm leaning toward the color but I do love the b/w too. so I choose...Both! Each has it's own charm. Nice capture. Susie

I like both Laura, but the coloured one is a little bit more sparkling because of the sunlight. I like to have a bridge of myself too, because it means that I probably have more money and also a nice piece of land and a nice free house................ only daydreaming. Good game of light and shadow in this one. Take care,
Klaas
