Peter, Thanks for your comments. I can use any shutter speed with the modification (the blur is intentional here). The camera functions exactly like it did before the mod, but its dedicated IR now. I used lifepixel for the modification and I was very happy with them. The turn around time was about 2 weeks and the cost was $350. If you aren’t afraid to perform your own camera surgery, they sell the hot mirror replacement filters for $95 and provide instructions. I’ve also heard good things about maxmax.

You're doing infrared with 300D + 70-200F4L ???? (exactly the combo i am using also, not for infrared because not modified) Wow, very daring i must say .. what kind of shutterspeeds does this give ? I can see it's kind of shaky, did you use tripod, or is it just the wind ?
