Yep, Bill, welcome to the club! Among the things I find so engaging about this photographic pursuit are the challenges and the opportunities to learn stuff. We old dogs can learn new tricks! ;-)

Thanx George... It's the darndest thing to get old and still be using a manual focus lens, and looking through gradational no-line bifocals... Thanx for the critique...I honestly hadn't noticed the small DOF shift in focus...Hmmm! I have a great deal to learn about PS...been too much of a traditionalist for about 26 years...
Cheers,
Bill

It is a great moment . . . and the expression is priceless. Larry's gotten me started--The focus is sharper on the embroidery than on the eyes and the hairline. That might be adjusted effectively in PS . . . and adding a catchlight in each of the eyes wouldn't be a bad idea either. Good work . . . Regards, --George

Well now I know you're interested in serious critiques only and no fluff so:
Excellent field shot...great compostion with DOF and element placement....
The digitized image could use a tiny bit of noise reduction
On the fluffy side great eye and very very cute
