Congrats on the Staff Choice for this one Ali! It is a very beautiful image. It is full of detail and colour. The 17mm worked well in this case. This is the type of image that looks much better once you open it up from the thumbnails. I fear that many people may have passed it by simply because it doesn't show so well in the thumbnails.
This is a common problem.
I find some images with fairly average quality and low detail can look pretty good in the small thumbs. It is only when you open them up that there may be a little dissapointment. The opposite is true in this case. :)

Hi Ali, This is a top notch shot! I remember this view on the entrance ticket to the Emam Mosque in Esfahan, but then more centered. I really like this composition, keeping the wall on the right horizontal. It adds more dynamism to this beautiful piece of architecture than that version, and that's definitely an improvement. Great shot! I've taken a similar shot to the one on the ticket, Now I'd wish I'd taken a bit more time to come up with something much better, like you did. A very well deserved SC!
