i see your point manu next i try an aperture of F22 and do a comparison on foreground sharpness.
i took this one laying flat on my chest .has for two shots yes your correct however same focal point .simply took one shot of foreground to the horizon point then next frame raised the view to the horizon then stitched.

thanks brian

What makes this shot is the foreground...without doubt, excellent clarity and definition. The distant sky seems a little distracting to me as I feel I need to see more contrast here and more sharpness....sometimes it can look like two shots?

Great feel

Totally understand Brian ...
Hollywood and the Foreign Press would marvel at this piece for a theatre opening ...

STAY HUNGRY!

firstly thank for you the positive douglas.
"run up your karma" i think i know what your saying.Douglas ive only been doing this Digital SLR hobby since september last year ,and started on usefilm shortly afterwards.has for comments if i like something i try to look at the technique and view of the approach they took.i see a lot of photos that are extremely good , i also see a lot of poorly executed stuff that sometimes deserves a critique of offering help , however many get offended and defensive when theres a negative point being made.

yes i could sit here all day and say nice photo etc and all of the best but i dont .

the way i look at it you know when you have a good photo but a great critique will offer you an alternative or better approach or tell you what you did wrong.

i could go on all day douglas but i wont because right now i enjoy photography and im still learning and hungry for better stuff , i know what i want just being in the right place at the right time is the problem.

Usefilm is a good place to source ideas my favourite source is Carsten Ranke who sadly doesnt come here anymore.

Absolutely Excellent ...
An 'Awarding Winning' image but only three comments before mine ...
What a shame ...

Perhaps it should have been entered in the 'Moody Landscape' category instead ...

Perhaps you should run up your Karma rating more, but if an image is this good it should just be recognized on it's own! Should we really have to comment all over the place for our Greatest Works to receive their rightful recognition ... Absolutely not!

Best of Regards!

Wow. A remarkable image, I like the border, it works well with the high contrast image. The foregeround really pulls you down the field to the horizon. I relly like this, thanks for sharing.
