On my recent trip I met an old friend of mine, and I asked him to pose for a photo or two. I took several shots, but my subject refused to look into the camera (there was a light source behind me, and also to the left). When I took this last picture I framed the newspaper in the foreground, and decided to give him later a REASON not to give me an eye contact. He's a former DJ, and he used to manage several rock and punk bands, of which the most famous in that part of the world were "Galija". Despite his rough, almost a "biker" look, he never drank any alcohol, never smoked, and never took any drugs. So, what's better than a "proof" otherwise? I "photoshopped" the front page of the newspaper, and replaced the breaking news story with: "On the plantation of Simo Rebic: FOUND MARIJUANA!" Everybody who knows the man can immediately tell that this picture is edited, and made just for humour. But I like it anyways. I hope you will too. BTW, he rarely takes photographs, but when he does they get published, like this one in the Guardian (UK)http://www.guardian.co.uk/gallery/image/0,8543,-11704207169,00.html
The light is falling exactly on the right spots. Wonderful detail of the left hand. The fact that he is not making contact isn't so bad here. It looks like he is thinking deeply.
