Hi Ray,
As I have no experience with snow shots, I use the automatic program ( here spot metering the snow too - unfortunately without any acceptable result, no adjustments on the exposure when shooting . I agree entirely with Hugo re snow overexposure when doing the conversion, still I have no idea how I should have avoided that knowing that I didn't want the background getting too dark...

Hi Mireille...I like this one in this series the best. It's a good Wintry scene with some splashes of colour. Snow scenes are so difficult at times, do you shoot for the trees and overexpose the snow? Or, do you go for detail in the snow and let the rest under expose? I think you took the best course in these circumstances.
I still have computer problems, I can comment but cannot post..Repairs start tomorrow. Hope to 'see' you again soon..Best wishes..Ray

Hi Mireille, I kinda agree with Noam on this one, the top part of the photo holds most interest. But not so much because of the green leafs, but because of the overexposed snow. It just needs a tad more details in the white area...
Just make sure you wear something fluorescent red; hunters are in most cases quite sensible, and won't shoot humans... Then again, it's better to be safe than sorry...:)
