Well actually, Rodney, we have a much better option for this kind of photo now than we had before. Upload a 1200-pixel panorama (aspect ratio of 2:1 or more) and you get a 750-pixel image with a "Panorama" button underneath it that if you click on, shows you the 1200-pixel image in a pop-up window. I just haven't got around to doing that for this one because originally it didn't work for vertical panoramas.

Great results with a clever idea. It is photos like this one that make me wish we had the size options as once we did. I really appreciate you sharing your photos of Japan. It helps me learn more about Japan while enjoying your photography. Thanks, Rodney

I've stopped following the "bug" forum... too many posts and--unthreaded--too hard to keep track of what's new and what's been debugged. I'll be glad if/when vertical panoramas become possible. The combination of a panorama back and a shift lens is pretty good with the Kiev 88. I had a film in mine when the viewfinder broke. Still haven't got the camera back. Maybe in time for Christmas?
An Arsat fisheye and stitching are another way to go for immersive panoramas with my Kiev! Whoopee!!

I read your post in the forums about vertical panoramas and Al's reply that after the bugs are fixed he'll have a go at making them possible. Won't that be great?
I've been looking at the panoramic film back for Kiev 88 at the Arax site - almost made the purchase, too :-) My 16:9 enlarging mask has given me very agreeable crops for some shots, if I start using it more then proper panoramas may be the next step. Certainly Horst Hamann's 'New York Vertical' is a big inspiration in this regard.

Hi Roger, it looks nice but there's not the panorama effect on UF :( Probably it works only for landscapes. Anyway the format is really nice Bye

Hi Roger, I think the vertical format works well in this image as it emphasises the structure and heigth of the staircase. Good use of diagonals, too. Very interesting approach, very effective!
Cheers,
Hugo

very effective! it works really well I must say! color is splendid in this one, and the vertical lines in the staircase help to add height. I like it alot.
