John, after reading your comment and enlarging the image as much as practical and taking a second look, I have to agree with you, there is sufficient detail in the shadows. Regards

I respectfully disagree with Paul and Serge. Highlighting the vehicle feels right. The rest of the road is of lesser import, but stands out very well. Should this be printed to, at least, 20X30 (as it should) the detail in the dark areas would be obvious and appropriate.

I like this image very much as it is but I agree with Serge, a little more detail in the shadows is required. The image might also benefit from a slightly wider capture to include the curve going into the trees. This would help my imagination join the dots (so to speak). At the moment I'm wondering whether there is a road intersection behind the bushes Hope this helps Regards

Nice photo. Imho, details are necessary. I mean, all parts of photo should be detalized well. It looks like you specially darkened some parts. I doubt about this... Regards, Serge

I like the subject and the composition but there seems to be problem with the light/exposure. Looks like you've had to work hard to get some elements out of the shadows and lost contrast and details as a result. I can't offer a simple solution Good job under the circumstances Regards

The earthy colours against the azure sky invite attention and the tree occupying the majority to the frame and the man looking into the image, sustains it. A very strong and pleasing photo Saimak Regards
