well, i dont think you want to improve it. really. its perfect. the crystal looks like gold.

if you want to find out how to light shiny objects, and crome and other such things that are highly reflective give me an email. ill send you some files i have from school. there really helpful. and you sem to be the experimantal type, so i think you could use them to play around with and experiment.
cheers

very very nice. It reminds of a tree i once saw with all the pine cones at the bottom of the tree.
the lady had been collecting them from the parks near by, she had most of her lawn taken by them.
it was the coolest thing. thanks for reminding me about it.

great shot, love the dof, and the colors are nice and soft. i dont think color correcting this would be good, i think it might take away from the image greatly.
super!

Andrew, your right, im bored of the rule of 3'rds and stuff, but you did this nicely, and by the way, you do have thirds, for your horizons, and the centre man, i think is set perfectly. rules are just guide lines, but if we all followed them, who would we be!
CLONES!!!!

no no no, it looks awsome the way you did it, B+W would look just as good, color, mmmmm i have to see it, but its a solid image, so it probably would look good.
and im going to tell you this once.....lol. dont listen to what ratings say. listen to what people write to you about you image. alot of the poeple rate images to there style and dont take into concideration anything else, thats why i dont let people rate my images..anymore, and if i do, its by accident. alot of people look at what other people rated it at, and follow the same path. when in reality, they know nothing about really rating images. well, thats just my opinon. i tel you this causes your a solid photographer, if i told some one else, they may think im nuts. but i make a living off taking pictures and went to school for years to perfect it, and im still learning.....(im also only 26 so ive got along way to go yet)
but as i said, comments are better then numbers,
and i always appreceate your comments cause you know how to give them! lol your very good with your words!
take care!
oh and by the way, i gave you all 7's

WOW!, you didnt use PS. thats Awsome! Really!
then my advise to you is keep going the direction your going with it, cause your locked on the right track!
Do you have PS?, if you do, you can add contrast to the shadowed areas by clicking on the burn tool and have it selected on shadows at 20%, play around with it, It can really add ++ to your images.
well, thats if you did not know about it already.
Your images are so strong, I think you may like it
Thanks for your comments
have a good night
...or day what ever time it is there!..its 1 am here, and im way over tired..that probably why im going on like this... so ill leave now... seeya

I think you did a great job!, if it was film, it would look a lot better, (only because your using digi it kind of hinders the quality of the image.) The technique for what you did here, with candle light and digital is top quality, but no pun intended,...it shines threw!..lol
almost any digital camera right now (exept medium format digital backs and higher) can really handle low light situations well.
So i say straite sevens for you freind!
for advice on low light digital exposures... if you have noise redution on your camera... use it, and if your playing round with PS. try flatening the blue levels a little. it looks good here what ever you did..so keep it up.
ciao

talk about movement!
you were saying about how photogs are pack animals, lol.....you are way to good with your words! something i need help on!...thats why i take pictures..lol
but anyway, i think, that if there is a whole bunch of photogs sitting in one place, and have the freedom to move around, means, yeah they probably have the ideal spot for that un-original image..so to speak. like a lot of my sports shots, they look the same as everyone else's shot, but that pays the bills. for the shot that no one has, probably will not pay the bills....but it will give the edge that the others dont have,.......... originality. and maybe you wont sell that image, thats ok, if your happy with it. thats all that matters. and if your a good photog, more then likely some one else will like it to. Thats what seperates the hobbiest from the ......... you know where im going with this!
take care!
great work also i must say

very nice capture, but i think as much as this is a landscape, it really deserves to be in decisive moments as well, the light you caught here is not an easy one to catch!
great !
