Gaetan,
What a wonderful portrate. The subject is great and your photo work is professional. The sharpness of focus, the DOF, color, and lighting is perfect. Darryl

Very nice shot, good job on the lighting. I know it can get tricky in the studio trying to light to people. Also like the spotlight on the background. This ladies must be very chuffed with this photo.
Cheers

hmmm.. CC? let me try :)
actually this is a nice pic with the beautiful leaf and the light! Well, it seems that u have blurred the BG but some of the selection doesn't looked pretty smooth for me.
I also found this pic lost the DOF a bit.
(just opinion, hope u dont mind ;))

greetings,
Ryca

The image as such seems fine but I feel the vignetting circle ( darken lighten center ) is to far to the right and to abrupt. Repositioning is my idea imho ;-)

One of the softiest capture I ever seen. In my say, I include the light, the composition, the POV, and the most of all, the girl who is very beautiful and who has a soft and calm energy.
Well done
Tom

Thank you for your critique. Very much appreciated. As for the hands, I have listened to two completely different philosophies from two photographic instructors. One states that the hands are an intricate part of the body so all attempts should be made to show them while the other states, like you, that because it is so difficult to pose, that the easiest and perhaps best way is to simply not have them shown. I am, as such, still not decided which way to go.

As for the square format, yes I agree that squares make overall great portraits (for me anyway). I also like to use landscape and put my subject on one side or the other but seldom in dead centre.

The result is very fine and appealing, just wonder if the two hands do really have to be here, I'd prefer them to be absent.
Consider a square crop as well.
:-)
