you're completely right Tim, the background is overly plain and provides no intrest to the audience and does not compliment the subject. this was the first photo i took with my new pentax and ever since then i've learend alot so you won't have to worry about me taking a shot like that again. and i appreciate the comment very much, thank you.

i fully agree. the background is far too plain and it creates no mood. one of these days i need to take a reshoot of the jub and roses but this time i will use a differennt material for th background and different lighting

This is very beautiful!!! The tonality of the ceramic piece marries well the colour of the dried roses.Maybe....the background should have been a diffrent colour, to make it more dramatic (?)
