Ah, the focus point, haha. i see. Yes, you are infact right about that, her arm is much more in focus than her face. I could try and blame that on my lenses ridiculously slow autofocus, but i should have been more patient anyway. I've used tamron and from what i've used they're certainly better than what i have. I'm actually budgeting for a canon fixed 100mm macro which should certainly solve my clarity issues. thank you again, justin

My apologies...your comp and crop are fine. Really, the length of her arms lends a sensuality to the photo. My comment as to the focal point should have been more directly stated as focus point. Meaning that's what appears to be sharpest in the frame.
Your lens is most likely the culprit. As an alternate lens, I can heartily recommend the Tamron 2.8, 28-70 zoom. It's much less expensive (when compared to Canon OEM, and a much better performer than Quantaray or Older Sigmas).
Relax on the crop. My eyes are most definitely drawn to hers. Nice work, Christopher

Thank you very much christopher for commenting. I certainly agree about the sharpness but unfortunately there isn't much i can do. I was using an ISO-200 and lowering to 100 wouldn't have much of a difference. It's my lens. It's a very worn-in cheaper Quantaray. In regards to the focal point, i suppoose the upper arm could be construed as the center/lead but since it's so close to the face, which most certainly was my desired focal point, i'm not sure how i could have cropped differently. Perhaps you'd be willing elaborate? Thank you again, justin

Agreed. She is beautiful. I especially like your composition and pose. Your choice of locale is also inspired. I like the texture of the over mortared brick. One complaint however, your image could be sharper. The focal point appears to be her leading elbow. Regards, Christopher

Thanks Roger but i intended it not to be interpreted as blood at all. I was going for something more evil, hence the title. If you look at the other image in the series you'll see i have followed this pattern. http://www.usefilm.com/image/961911.html Thank you for commenting. -justin
