Beautiful! Color, patterns, movement, lighting, angle ...everything! I really wanna go back to India!

So amazing when I see the same spot in perspective. I didn't notice the band playing in the other photo. Everyone was so far away.
Incidentally, is that fountain announcement also in English? If not there must be a few wet gaijin around there.

Excellent Roger! This is a real eye-catcher with that hexagonish pattern on the sidewalk as well as that yellow lighting inside the doorways. This is probably my favorite of your 360 series.
My hat's off to ya.

I may not have chose the best angle but I had to avoid showing the background through the railing to achieve the illusion. These stairs were dismantled and laying flat on the ground at a construction site, so the water from a recent rain settled in between the steps. (Had to sneak over a fence for this)
Thanks again,

Jim

Howdy, Roger. Thanks for being the first one to actually look at my picture. The sloping water effect has nothing to do with the shadows. It's all in the angle of the stairs.
Cheers,
Jim

Thanks for the nice note, Sharrie. I'm afraid it will be a while before I can get to Greenland, but it's a big dream.
If you happen to come to Yokohama while in Japan, feel free to drop me a line. My wife and I can meet up with you, or at least point you to some of the nicer sights around here. Cheers, Jim

I just wanted to say your picures of the Utah desert are making me homesick. I grew up in Moab during the '70s. I believe this one is called "Turret Arch", unless they changed the name as they have some others. Anyway, your photos of the Arches are a nice change from the cliche-ed views I usually see of them. Cheers,
Jim

Oops! How on earth did I post a comment to someone else's photo on my own thread??? Sorry, folks. Please ignore that last comment.

Thanks again for thinking of me, Roger.
Wow, what can I say? This is my favorite piece of yours. I like the dominating warmth of the red complimented with a touch of cool blue and green.
Well, in the words of our friend Rashed Abdulla, "all of the best, my friend"!

...In order to make the most of that pattern, I "tightened" the perspective some to get as much of it into the cropped frame without showing the bare floor. Unfortunately I couldn't include those nice swirly designs on the right, but they just didn't fit into the pattern I'm seeing here.
I hope you don't take this as a criticism so much as just my own personal approach to it.
Again, thank you kindly for thinking of me.
Cheers,
Jim

I noticed the same thing here that Mr. Karl Steyn kindly pointed out in my recent "escalator" picture. That is, a section of the floor showing in the corner is distracting from the subject. Also, the bare wall areas on the upper right aren't really helping. To me, the attraction here is the unbroken pattern of shorts to the left and center of the picture...

Mr. Williams! What a nice surprize! I've never had anyone dedicate a picture to me before. I'm both flattered and honored, even if it is a rack of underwear! Interesting patterns can be found in anything. Thank you, Roger.
If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to try some things with this in Photoshop and explore some other possibilities.

X X, do you exist? You don't seem to have a profile or portfolio. How did you get in here?

Thanks, Y'all.
Karl, you're right on about that upper left corner. I cropped it and then stretched it so it's not too narrow.
How's this...?

Great colors and a real interesting photo.
I just looked at your portfolio. You're one of the few people who know how to photograph flowers creatively.

Very nice, Mr. Tanaka. The way you include the the shadows and space to the right is very effective.
By the way, this week is the Ume No Hana festival in Okurayama where I live. If you happen to come here (and if weather permits), drop me an email and I can try to meet you in "Bairin Koen".
Cheers

Well, this one is particularly small because I had already sized it down earlier to fit my homepage format. Then yesterday I couldn't find the original. Normally I like my pictures just big enough to fill the screen without having to scroll. Anyway, thanks again, both of you, for commenting.

John Bohner has a good point: Why don't we ever see them hanging out at Mister Donuts?

Anyway, I like all your stitched panoramas. They really capture the feel of life in Tokyo.
