Malules,
Thanks for all the comments lately.
I haven't paricipated in UF for nearly four years, until recently.

Shaimaa, I'm enjoying your portfolio of Egypt. This is a very nice different view of the pyramids, as most people don't realize there is so much green nearby. I hope to visit there someday.

Hi Roger. I just stopped in to say hello since I haven't been too active in UF lately.

I like your recent flower shots. I have been noticing this flower recently growing to impressive heights. Also enjoying the "ajisai", as always this time of year.

Thank you Barbara. I wish I could say she really was "my model", but I didn't even speak to her.

By the way, your sunset picture is still a favorite of mine and I think it deserves an award.

Thanks Gareth.
I found these tanks somewhere near the mouth of the Tsurumi river just before a bridge that connects to the Yokohama Bay Bridge.

This is the ultimate Fuji shot! Two of my favorite photo subjects are Fujisan and fall kaki. I wonder why I haven't seen your work before.

Hi Craig. I just discovered your portfolio. When I saw this I thought you must have gone to the same spot where I was, but now I see it's quite different. It's funny how we had the same idea, though. Good job.

No problem, Gabriela. I figured you've been away from the computer for a while, especially since the weather has turned nicer. Anyway, glad you like it!
Cheers...

Forgive me for this overdue THANK YOU to all of you who commented. The votes go to the uncropped photo then, so I will use that one
for printing. Cheers!

Wow! Real nature lovers well-captured. Somehow the irony reminds me of earth day in some U.S. cities. Good work.

This is actually closer to Kita-kamakura, along Kamakura-Kaidou (Rt 21). Actually, this scene did remind me a lot of your work when I was shooting it. Panoramas are not my specialty, but I wouldn't guess it would work well here as there was nothing else of interest in the other directions. I also should mention that I cleaned up some power lines that were littering the sky here.

How's it going, Roger?
I like your second version of this shot best because it looks like you corrected the exposure in the middle part of the picture. Also, I was wondering if you tried this same scene at different times of the day. I'm guessing this is morning. I wonder what it would look like in late afternoon light.

Howdy again, Roger.
Yes, I'm sure know this place (real close to the Indian embassy). I noticed from your portfolio that you had been there last year. Incidentally, I particularly like your piece "Cherry Blossoms II" from last spring. Looking forward to seeing what you get this year.

Sorry to reply so late, Doyle. That's a good idea to crop it more simple like that. It's more to the point. Thanks.

Another good catch, Roger.
Just for kicks, I did an experiment and analysed what appears to be two different emotions with this guy. I've heard of bipolar disorder, but this looks like simultaneous bipolarity!

So amazing when I see the same spot in perspective. I didn't notice the band playing in the other photo. Everyone was so far away.
Incidentally, is that fountain announcement also in English? If not there must be a few wet gaijin around there.

Excellent Roger! This is a real eye-catcher with that hexagonish pattern on the sidewalk as well as that yellow lighting inside the doorways. This is probably my favorite of your 360 series.
My hat's off to ya.

I may not have chose the best angle but I had to avoid showing the background through the railing to achieve the illusion. These stairs were dismantled and laying flat on the ground at a construction site, so the water from a recent rain settled in between the steps. (Had to sneak over a fence for this)
Thanks again,

Jim

Howdy, Roger. Thanks for being the first one to actually look at my picture. The sloping water effect has nothing to do with the shadows. It's all in the angle of the stairs.
Cheers,
Jim

Thanks for the nice note, Sharrie. I'm afraid it will be a while before I can get to Greenland, but it's a big dream.
If you happen to come to Yokohama while in Japan, feel free to drop me a line. My wife and I can meet up with you, or at least point you to some of the nicer sights around here. Cheers, Jim

I just wanted to say your picures of the Utah desert are making me homesick. I grew up in Moab during the '70s. I believe this one is called "Turret Arch", unless they changed the name as they have some others. Anyway, your photos of the Arches are a nice change from the cliche-ed views I usually see of them. Cheers,
Jim
