Not sure what programme u r using (I use Photoshop CS2) should be similar for other photoshop... Open image... Image (drop down menu) and image size.make sure "constrain proportions" box is checked to keep correct proportions.Change largest size (depending on landscape / portrait orientation)to 850 pixels...largest accepted by US. I then "save as" JPEG (important to "save as" to keep your original) and adjust the quality slider until the image size is 400K or a little smaller...again US requirement.
Im sure there are many other ways, this works for me tho' If you do not use Photoshop, try reading / asking in the Photo forums..
Hope this helps. Chris

Interesting series Nicole...no-one else commented? I like the tones. Wonder what this would look like a couple of steps to the right, and panned left, amking the tower reflection a little more prominant. Also enjoyed your Rhapsody in Fur series. Why not make your images a little bigger so we could enjoy them a little better...

that looks really like a ghost town, empty place just for those souls who can´t leave this world, such tone gives much more stronger feeling and even cloudes seem like ghosts flying over, that is a nice capture, really like it a lot regards olga

I like the tones Nicole. Not sure about the composition though. Perhaps it is too centered or just not ment to be verticle? The only other critique I would offer is it is a bit over exposed in the sky above the horizon, but I think you did the best you could do with the light available.

Nice image. I love polaroid transfers. I've never tried it myself.. My only experience is with digital, but my wife is very much into alternative processes and wet photography, and I guess she's had a big influence on my tastes. When I feel like I've got some good images, I think I'd like to try out some contact printing with digital negatives. I'd love to see any other alternative stuff you've done.

Hi, nicole. I really like what you've done wiht the shots from Bodie (and I see a lot I like in your p/f...I'm looking forward to spending a liitle more time on it soon). I really like the textures in the fields and in the wood. The sepia toning is well done and adds to the image. Since this is in the Crit Corner, I'll mention that the only thing that sort of bothers me are the 2 hot spots at the top of the image in the sky. If they were cropped out I still think there's a nice image left, and then you'd have some tones to work with in the sky. I feel wierd doing this, but I did try the crop just to see if it would work. But overall a nice image, and I do love your work. Respectfully, Tim.
