Hi Klaus,

I used a 400mm lens, approximately 15 yards away.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Ken,

Thank you for your comment. This picture was taken in last summer (mid May, 2005) when wrens were in their nesting season. I found several nests then, but this one was the best site for me to take pictures although the lighting still lower then I had hoped.

What happened was that the parent birds were busily coming back and forth to their nest bringing worms or bugs to feed their youngs. They were very alert, moving constantly and never stopped for more than a second. Sometimes, they flapped their tails up for only a fraction of a second. I found this spot just in front of their nest on a burned tree trunk. They often stopped here look around their back, then jumped into their nest inside a hole.

Regards,

Huoyi

Hi Guido,

Thank you for your comment. I got another shot at the bird. It was not as clear as the other one but the crest was open and the bird looked prettier. Please see my reply to Jason (I wish that I could reply to all the people with only one message).

Regards,

Huoyi
