"So tell me OHGFOM, what makes this (and the other daisy) work that does not with "beginnings"? More (but ever so slight) clarity? "

In part, yes. Also, here the lighter hues of pastel blue and the pale petals of the daisy give a flavor not unlike french impressionism...Monet comes to mind. Suggestive to say the least and layered so that the clarity is in part a repeating thematic image as it relates to the petals and the whole suggests to the mind a common, easily related to image that suits this composition quite well. Got the OHGFOM in a NY second too! ;)

Prolly...

No, you know me, I can't do that. What's not to like if you are in an almost abstract, slightly tipsy and/or impaired frame of mind?

Awwwww...love you too. ;)

"As for the breaking the rules...Hmmmpf, I broke the "every photo must be crystal clear" rule. So what do you think of that? "

Well, since you asked...let me be clear...Oh! My bad. BWA HAHAhahaaa! Imagine...(*chuckle*)...I said 'clear'! Get it? Clear! I said 'clear' to YOU! OMG! Too funny! I 'get' the explanation. This is what life looks like when your eyes are filled with amniotic fluid?? Uh huh. Well then...I stand corrected! BRILLIANT. A MASTERPIECE!! This is the quintessential shot that will soon be the paragon of...(*HAHAhahaa*)...DAMMIT. I ALMOST said that with a straight face too!

WHAT?! A Lensbaby shot you DO like...has the world turned upside down...is it snowing in Cali? So tell me OHGFOM, what makes this (and the other daisy) work that does not with "beginnings"? More (but ever so slight) clarity?

Thanks a million Doyle...glad you like.

Kekekeke...you figure out OHGFOM.

Sorry Avi...waiting for Tyler to get his transplant. The waiting stinks...we just hope he will continue to do well until that time comes. In the meantime, he is getting big, learning and progressing extremely well, and loads of fun!

Thanks for the hugs. :)

Well now...let's explain what was running through my head at the time. The title...beginnings are, at times, just that, beginnings...sometimes lacking in clarity, perhaps a bit unclear...ya picking up what I'm laying down?

As for the breaking the rules...Hmmmpf, I broke the "every photo must be crystal clear" rule. So what do you think of that?

Now that I've given you enough sh!t, thanks man! Good to hear from you Doyle. :)

Stay tuned for more replies. ;P

I likes me that square crop. I also think you'd have better clarity if you lost the +10 macro. You don't need it and I suspect it cost some serious focal clarity. :)
I've...umm...seen...umm...stronger...(yeah! That's it! Stronger) shots. I think this might have been a great candidate to break that ol' 'rule of thirds' guideline! :)

My kind'a shot. I do a lot of series things... Life/Death, New/Old, Nature/Man.... this would fit into one of my many categories... I love the depth of field... and I do not like "dof"... I prefer to write out the entire phrase.
